Former Matsushiro Bell Tower 【Nagano City Cultural Heritage Property】
The bell tower was constructed in 1624. It was used to ring the time for the local people. It was also used as an emergency fire alarm. In 1849, Zozan Sakuma experimented here with a telegraph for the first time in Japan.
