Teramachi Merchant House (Former Kanehako Family Residence)

The kanehako family ran various kinds of businesses, mainly pawnshop business, from the Edo period to the modern era. The Kanehako family made a tremendous contribution to reconstruct the temples and build the schools. They were very respected among the community. There are the stunningly refined front gate, three storehouses which have particular features of the pawnbroker industry, and garden with artical pond are very spectacular. They serve lunch and drinks there.
