At the end of World War II, as the last base of the Mainland Battlefield,
this underground tunnel complex was secretly built by the military for
the relocation of the various branches of the government, Mt. Zozan: government
agencies, Mt. Maizuru: imperial headquarters and the Emperor’s room, Mt.
Minakami: food storage. There are over 10km of tunnels beneath the three
mountains. The tunnel of Zozan Underground Bunker's about 500m long are
open for public viewing at present.
